Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot

Since most kids are potty trained between the ages of 18 months and three, why not make it fun like this young fellow does? He brings his toy bear who also has a potty into the bathroom. Together they enjoy a story, play with a basket full of toys near the potty until the big event. "Here it comes, I go pee-pee." It is great news and mommy helps her little one wash his hands, thus setting a very good example for kids reading the book. The character is a cute hippopotamus and the drawings are simple black lines without too much detail and color is added by the clothing and other items in each scene. It is a very upbeat approach to potty training, and one that just might be right for your little one. The closing page contains Rookie Storytime Tips for this addition to the "Rookie Toddler" series.
