About the Author, Pam Cook

Pam Cook is Professor of European Film and Media at the University of Southampton. She is coeditor of The Cinema Book (BFI, second edition, 1999). Her publications on British cinema include Fashioning the Nation: Costume and Identity in British Cinema (BFI, 1996) and (as editor) Gainsborough Pictures 1924-1950 (1998).
