Overview
Loewe says that Solomon Ibn Gabirol (ca. 1021-ca. 1070) is possibly the greatest of the Spanish-Jewish poets, and that he was also a neoplatonic pholosopher of importance whose work links Jewish philosophy with the intellectual climate of Moorish Spain and left a mark on the thought of medieval Europe. This book provides a brief biography of Ibn Gabirol, describes his philosophical works, and describes and presents examples of his poetry in Hebrew and in English translation.Book Details
