Overview

This madcap collection of original rants, raves, musings, and declarations from the hosts of "National Public Radio's most popular non-news show" (New York Times), addresses a variety of topics from politics and computer addiction to Hollywood and coffee culture in short, pithy, sometimes caustic-but always amusing-essays.

Author Biography: Tom and Ray Magliozzi are the hosts of Car Talk, the popular weekly radio show heard by millions nationwide on NPR. From Barnes & Noble

In 1977, not long after Tom and Ray Magliozzi opened their auto repair shop, the MIT-graduate brothers launched a radio show devoted, nominally at least, to fixing cars. Every week, hundreds of thousands of listeners, many of them confirmed "engine virgins," tune in to Car Talk, Tom and Ray's talkfest about cars, coffee, computers, and anything else that crosses their minds. NPR's most popular non-news show, Car Talk is perhaps the strangest hit in the history of broadcasting, a strange amalgam of automotive know-how, arcane opinions, and genial rants and raves. This lavishly uproarious collection of Magliozzi irreverence will cause more jolts than a good jumper cable.
