Friend (U. of N. Carolina-Greensboro) and Bursuck (N. Illinois U.) present the third edition of this textbook for preservice and inservice teacher courses. New features in the third edition include a list of key terms and concepts at the beginning of each chapter, the addition of a "Special Emphasis On..." feature to each chapter highlighting topics and issues relevant to secondary school teachers, and increased attention to the contributions of parents and families to their children's education.
