Booknews
Eight essays written by city managers proving that local governments can find innovative solutions to government problems even with limited resources. The contributors set out straight forward strategies for responsible governing and share "case studies" of their experiences in resolving an array of public service problems, including managing stormwater in a coastal community, coping with financial cutbacks in public safety, shifting priorities in zoning, and dealing with the obstacles to changing government structures in a small community.
