Synopsis

This volume contains seven papers originally presented at the INTERACT-5 workshop held in conjunction with the IEEE HPCA-7 in Monterrey, Mexico in 2001. There, researchers from around the world discussed the interaction between compilers and computer architectures. A sampling of topics includes a semi-hierarchical array layout scheme, the impact of tile-size selection for skewed tiling, and how compiler optimizations influence the energy consumption of a superscalar processor.
