Deborah Ulrich, PhD, RN, has been a nurse educator for the past 30 years in diverse educational settings. She has influenced nursing education through journal articles, books, and national presentations focusing on innovative teaching strategies. Debbie received her BSN from The Ohio State University, her Masters from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and her Doctorate from The Ohio State University. Presently, she is a professor of nursing at Miami University in Ohio and teaches in the baccalaureate nursing program.

Kellie Glendon, MSN, RNC, is an experienced nurse educator, author, and national speaker on innovative teaching in nursing curricula. She received her BSN from The College of Mt. St. Joseph on the Ohio and her Masters from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. Kellie has received certification in obstetrics. Presently she is an associate professor of nursing at Miami University and has been teaching students in the Associate Degree Nursing Program for the past 15 years. She was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award by the Greater Cincinnati Consortium of Colleges and Universities in 1998.

Since Debbie and Kellie began working together they have published numerous journal articles on innovative teaching and learning, co-authored two books, Interactive Group Learning: Strategies for Nurse Educators and Unfolding Case Studies: Experiencing the Realities of Clinical Nursing Practice (Springer, 19999), spoken at over 50 national nurse educator conferences, and consulted with numerous schools of nursing on creative and interactive teaching modalities. As of January 2004 they are co-authoring the bimonthly column, "Dear Florence," in Nurse Educator.
