1907. A study in social evolution. The author believes there exists a great number of intermediate types between the normal man and the normal woman, meaning a feminine body with the mind and feelings being masculine or vice versa. Divided into two parts: Part 1 is entitled the Intermediate in the Service of Religion, and Part 2 is the Intermediate as Warrior. Chapters are entitled: Part 1: as prophet or priest; as wizard or witch; as inventors of the arts and crafts; hermaphrodism among gods and mortals; Part 2: Dorian military comradeship; its relation to the status of woman; its relation to civic life and religion; samurai of Japan, their ideal.
