About the Author, Kate Kalata
As an author with more than 17 years of higher education experience, Kate Kalata's wide range of work experience includes instructional development, online course development, web programming, and project management. As a pioneer in Web development technologies, she created and taught many of the advanced courses in Web development in the Web certificate programs at Oakton Community College. She is pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership at Western Michigan University. Her current research is on the development of Web careers into a profession and curriculum development and web standards for Web technologies. She is currently the Coordinator of Course Development for the School of Online Learning at Park University (Parkville, MO), where she is also an online adjunct faculty for the Information and Computer Science Department and has developed their online web development courses.
