Overview

Written for beginning students, this self-contained text introduces the Latin language through the basics of English grammar. The book is arranged into twenty units, each of which includes grammatical concepts, exercises, and vocabulary. After the basic grammatical forms are presented, each further unit contains several original passages by various Latin authors. A listing of English words derived from the vocabulary in these units is included. The final section contains two lengthy excerpts for translation, one prose and the other poetry. A full list of paradigms as well as Latin-to-English and English-to-Latin dictionaries are included. An excellent introductory text for students of Latin.
