Overview

This work provides an easy-to-follow reference for studying Egyptian scribal styles. While we have no clear evidence that ancient Egyptians themselves organized or taught writing in this way, this fresh new system assists modern scholars and is rooted in a more organic approach to the rules of calligraphy than existing methods. It allows for simple, consistent, and orderly comparisons of single signs, ligatures, and group writings.
