Overview

Isla de luz

(Island of Light)
is the third title in our successful Storyteller’s Series. The Series is
appropriate for high-beginner and low-intermediate learners of Spanish. This
new novella takes readers on a time-travel journey with "H-0011"
(the protagonist), who is from Earth’s future. As readers travel back in
time with H-0011 they are simultaneously introduced to important historical
moments in Hispanic history, with a particular focus on the Caribbean
region. This engaging story, written for intermediate students of Spanish,
provides a format to encourage students to read for pleasure in Spanish and
thereby further develop their language skills. Activities for students and
suggestions for professors, in addition to a useful timeline of important
dates in history, offer pedagogical tools that facilitate use of this reader
in the class.
