About the Author, Vesna Hassler

Vesna Hassler is a member of A-SIT (Secure Information Technology Center, Austria). She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Zagreb University (Croatia), and her Ph.D. degree from Graz University of Technology (Austria). Dr. Hassler is the author of Security Fundamentals for E-Commerce (Artech House, 2001) and has published a number of conference and journal papers on cryptography, network security, payment systems, and smart cards. Martin Manninger is a manager of smart card projects at Austria Card, Ltd. He holds his M.Sc. in economics and informatics from the University of Vienna, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Vienna University of Technology. Mikhail Gordeev is an independent consultant in the areas of network security and smart cards. Dr. Gordeev holds an M.Sc. in computer science from Perm State Technical University, Russia and a Ph.D. in electric engineering and information technology from the Vienna University of Technology. Christoph MΓΌller currently works for Xsoft, Ltd. His recent research activity includes OpenCard Framework and smart cards. He holds an M.Sc. in informatics from Vienna University of Technology.
