Jazzing up Instruction

Music is a universal language that has been recognized throughout history for its ability to entertain, communicate, educate, inspire, infuse customs, and impart values. Knowing that music has a profound effect on children and on a student's ability to learn and to read, this workbook was created for elementary schools to help generate student's interest in what they are learning. The Children's Guild, a not-for-profit organization based in Baltimore, Maryland, is a national leader in special education. Bill Messenger is a teacher, composer, historian, and lecturer at the Peabody Conservatory of Music. He is also the originator of The Children's Guild Music program. Kelly Spanoghe is the director of Education at the Children's Guild's Annapolis, Maryland Campus.
