Overview
"Who can I call at 2 a.m. when I'm in a crisis?" "My husband just announced he's leaving me. What do I do?" "The doctor had no good news today. Who can I call who cares?" "I just put my youngest child on a plane for college. It hurts so much. Now what do I do?"These are just some of the pressing questions Norene Antin heard in her women's group at church. So in 1988 she began to explore ways to meet their needs. As she puts it, "With simple, wobbly faith, I responded to the presence of the Holy Spirit by focusing my eyes on my living, loving Lord."
Out of Norene's willingness to serve God grew the Friendship Circle, a gathering of women who met for weekly fellowship and to study God's Word. Soon their meetings became more than just a Bible study. As the women opened God's Word, they found they could also open their hearts to each other.
"Joining our Friendship Circle has helped me to connect with God and with other women in my church in a way that no other activity has," says one participant. "Our group experiences the whole range of emotions, from heartfelt tears to intense laughter -- all within the same 90-minute session."
Jesus Touching Others is a happy result of those small-group sessions. Whether you work through the book yourself, or if you share this easy-to-use guide with others, you'll find that you aren't merely learning more about the Bible -- you're getting to know God Himself. And as you draw closer to Him, you'll grow closer to those who share the journey with you.
