Overview

Award-winning actor Johnny Depp's rebellious personality caused him quite a bit of trouble as an adolescent. His adult life has not been without controversy either-he has been the subject of numerous tabloid rumors, and has also been arrested several times. However, this high-school dropout has been able to overcome his personal demons and go onto forge one of Hollywood's most interesting careers.

After becoming a star on the television series 21 Jump Street, Johnny earned a reputation for often playing interesting and offbeat characters such as those in the films Edward Scissorhands, Don Juan DeMarco, and Sleepy Hollow. However, his greatest commercial and popular success came when he portrayed Captain Jack Sparrow in the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Today, Johnny Depp still enjoys making movies, but he is also happily settled into the role of father and spends much of his time appreciating life with his family in southern France.
