Gr 1-3This simply written introduction consists of 13 fictionalized postcards, penned by enthusiastic, remarkably well-informed young tourists. Each "card" presents some facts about Kenya, briefly describing the capital city, open-air markets, game parks, transportation, customs, Madaraka Day (national independence day), and other points of interest. A postscript at the bottom of each "card" offers bits of miscellaneous information, supposedly supplied by an adultMom, Dad, or Uncle. One sharp, snapshot-size, full-color photo, representing the front of the postcard, alternates with each page of text. Although this title is clearly written and has an appealing format, the information it provides is minimal and disjointed. The repetitive one-paragraph text for each spread is monotonous. Books in the "Take a Trip" series (Watts) offer more information, albeit for slightly older audiences.Gebregeorgis Yohannes, San Francisco Public Library, CABook Details
