There are over 104 knock-knock jokes, more than enough to appeal to almost every reader. Most of the jokes should be read aloud to assure comprehension. Also necessary is a prior knowledge of clichés, movies, commercials and the like. Example—"Knock-knock," "Who's there?" "Hallways," "Hallways who?" "Hallways a bridesmaid, never the bride." If the punch line has been heard in a different context, the joke is easier to understand. The vocabulary may be difficult for a middle school student reading below grade level. The black-and-white sketches are humorous and just right for this knock-knock book.
