School Library Journal

Gr 7 Up-Readers first met Gaia Moore in the "Fearless" series (S & S), which chronicles her high school years. She was born with amazing eyesight, off-the-chart reflexes, near-superhuman strength, and a complete lack of fear. These attributes, coupled with an unusual home situation, threw her into a life of vigilante justice. In this first installment of her new series, Gaia is celebrating her college graduation when a suicide bomber places her in the middle of an FBI operation. Impressed by her natural ability, though dubious of her past disregard for the law, the agency accepts her into their training program. Gaia knows that she is the best there is-but can she prove it to everyone else while obeying all the rules? This is a fun, action-packed read. Characters are decently developed, and the engaging plot moves quickly. Libraries that own the "Fearless" books will definitely want to add this one to their collection; older readers may want to begin with this more mature series.-Morgan Johnson-Doyle, Sierra High School Library, Colorado Springs, CO Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
