Overview

Brown's remarkably adventurous life on the western plains began after the California and Cariboo gold rushes. He became a Pony Express rider, buffalo hunter, Head Scout for the Rocky Mountain Rangers and a conservationist who fought to establish Waterton Lakes National Park. He was arrested for murder in Montana and stripped naked by Sitting Bull's war parry.
