Gr 8 UpLaser Careers explains the use of lasers in various science areas, medicine and dentistry, military, assembly lines, and communications. Each chapter discusses the pros and cons of various employment options and sources of additional information. Telecommunications Careers presents a brief history of the field and then deals with each segment of this career field. Information on the areas of maintenance, installers and operators, military opportunities, as well as the fields of data and video is presented. The writing in both books is clear and informative, but also very dry. The black-and white photographs are grainy, often dark, and do little to elucidate the text.
