Library Journal

A third volume of letters (the first to apprentices, the second to other architects) by Wright, under the imprimatur of the Wright Memorial Foundation; included are a few letters from clients. This is a rather uncritical collection; there is no apparent rationale for the projects included, nor indication if the correspondence is complete as presented. Pfeiffer, a follower, provides a brief introduction to each commission, but this book has no inherent unity, as found in (from the client's view) Paul and Jean Hanna's Frank Lloyd Wright's Hanna House ( LJ 8/81) . For comprehensive collections. Jack Perry Brown, Ryerson & Burnham Libs., Art Inst. of Chicago
