This volumes explores the whole range of Alexis Tocqueville's ideas, from his political, literary and sociological theories to his concept of history, his religious beliefs, and his philosophical doctrines. Eduardo Nolla is Professor of Political Philosophy and chairman of the Department of Political Science at the Universitas Nebrissensis in Madrid. He has recently published the first critical, revised, and augmented edition of Tocqueville's Democracy in America.
