Overview

Geared to the cybrarian or research addict wanting to speedily succeed in Web research, the book begins with a wealth of metasearch engines (these simultaneously employ multiple search engines like Google and Yahoo, often sorting and de-duping the results). Also included are deep search engines that look for non-HTML formatted material, and specific sites that monitor and provide news about search engines. Subsequent chapters provide suggestions for finding people, news, kids' sites, free full-text resources, health info, cyber malls, and financial help. There are also tips for managing Web-based e-mail, teaching the Internet, and making Web pages. One of the more interesting sections describes Web sites with free full-text literature, sites like Project Gutenberg which allows free access to works like the "Great Books." Annotation c.
