About the Author, Lowell A. Martin

Lowell A. Martin has been Associate Dean of the Library School at Columbia University and organizer and Dean of the School at Rutgers University. He spent ten years as Vice President of Grolier Inc., where he was responsible for 800 editorial workers. In recent years he has conducted administrative surveys of libraries in various cities.
