About the Author, Barbara Peterson

Barbara Peterson is currently a teacher-librarian in the Tucson Unified School District. She received her Ph.D. in children's literature and early literacy from The Ohio State University. She has been a Reading Recovery teacher and teacher leader. Her dissertation, Characteristics of Texts That Support Beginning Readers, was a study of how the features of texts influence their readability for new readers.
