Overview

This book provides technical guidance on loft conversions in single family dwellings. Overall the text is concise, comprehensive and easily understandable. Crucially, the new edition it has been brought fully up to date to reflect current legislation and the impact of the many changes in the building regulations since the first edition. Chapter 1 in particular has been comprehensively rewritten with new drawings to reflect changes brought about by the introduction of The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Amendment) (No. 2) (England) Order 2008, and reference is made to the new permitted development law to be introduced in Wales in 2012. The coverage of energy performance of loft conversions has been also been significantly extended and enhanced, reflecting current legislation and trends.
