Children's Literature - Beverly Kobrin

Ron Schultz's book on how underwater archaeologists go about looking inside shipwrecks for sunken treasure introduced me to the National Park Service's Submerged Cultural Resource Unit (SCRU) which is dedicated to the preservation and protection of shipwrecks in American waterways/territories. I'd never known such a group existed-nor that 26 national parks contain shipwrecks certified divers can explore. This information-packed eye-opener also details the development and use of underwater research tools and breathing gear and the history and exploration of four shipwrecks in American waters. Colorful photographs and drawings illustrate all.
