Overview
Harav Lord Jakobovits, formerly Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth, was born in Germany, studied in England and officiated as Chief Rabbi in Dublin, Rabbi in New York and Chief Rabbi in London. His Jewish and general education was much broader than that of most Rabbis in Israel and the Diaspora and he felt at home in both Jewish and general culture. As a result, his views concerning Judaism, the Land of Israel, Israel and the Territories, Israel and the Nations, Torah and Science, etc., are far from mainstream Halachic opinion." "He was an ambassador of traditional Judaism as a religion and culture in today's world, and gained attention and respect not only in the traditional Jewish world but also among secular Jews.Editorials
