The proceedings of a conference, no date or location noted, that was part of an ongoing program of cooperation between the University of Alberta and AL.I. CUZA University in Iasi, Romania. Three quarters of the 24 papers are concerned with theoretical aspects of differential geometry. Among those topics are the deflection tensor field in Lagrange geometrics, Sasakian structures on Finsler manifolds, general Randers spaces, and killing equations in a tangent bundle. The other papers focus on applications of geometrical models in physics for such purposes as modelling finite-range gravity, and the quantization of complex scalar fields. Any papers on biology seem to have gotten lost. Addressed to physicists and graduate students. No index. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
