Conventional new-parent advice books do not adequately cover the phenomenon of multiple births; thus, a number of excellent books on the topic have been published in recent years. Make Room for Twins can be added to the list. Based on interviews and research, it serves as an updated version of Elizabeth Noble's Having Twins: a parent's guide to pregnancy, birth, and early childhood ( LJ 11/15/80). Separate chapters on parental roles may offend shared-responsibility families. Household management, for example, is clearly defined as Mom's role whereas Dad's role is to ``help.'' Nevertheless, the advice is sensible and nonprescriptive. Highly recommended for public libraries. Mary Hemmings, McGill Univ. Medical Lib., MontrealBook Details
