Library Journal

Phillipson follows her earlier Cross-Stitch Designs from China with this collection of 251/12-scale patterns for miniature needlepoint done in tent stitch on 22-count canvas. The designs, including a Tree of Life carpet and a beautiful East Turkestan prayer rug, were inspired by Chinese rugs and carpets and will be of interest to needlework miniatures artisans and doll-house decorators. Each pattern includes a note on the origins of the design, a list of threads required, a full-page color photo of the finished piece, and a full-page color graph of the design. Also included is a thread conversion chart for Anchor, DMC, Madeira, Kreinik, and Appleton threads. Purchase for large public libraries, as demand for miniature crafts and doll-house decorating warrants. Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.
