About the Author, G?ran Roos
Göran Roos is the founder of Intellectual Capital Services in London, England. He holds an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Management Consultancy from Henley Management College, Henley-on-Thames, England, an MBA in Strategy from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France and a MSc in Engineering Physics, Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden. Göran has held management positions in both American and European firms and has lived in Sweden, Norway, Japan, France and US before moving to England. Göran has founded or co-founded, managed and in some cases successfully divested 15 companies during 20 years. The companies have all been knowledge based and have had or have domicile in UK, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Australia and the US. Göran is one of the founders of the modern field of intellectual capital and has published books, articles and case studies on the subject as well as on the wider subject of strategy. Göran's consulting experience in this field ranges across both public and private sectors in over 40 countries. Göran holds academic positions at Cranfield University's Centre for Business Performance, Helsinki School of Economics' Centre for Executive Education in Finland and Mt. Eliza Business School in Australia. Göran has previously held positions at the Norwegian School of Management, Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania and the Institute for Policy Science in Japan. Göran's principal interests lie in helping clients extracting more value from their intangible assets.
Stephen Pike is Research Director at Intellectual Capital Services and is responsible for researching, developing and implementing intellectual capitalmethodologies for the emerging business environments. Stephen is expert in knowledge management and mathematical modelling. Prior to joining Intellectual Capital Services, Stephen had for many years been a manager in the UK’s Defense Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) with a responsibility for corporate planning, technology management and strategy. Most recently he initiated the DERA’s knowledge management program and the use of intellectual capital methodologies to measure and manage. Stephen has also worked with the European Union Commission and the European Industrial Research Management Association on knowledge management and creativity and in 2000 the European Union Commission appointed him as a reviewer of a EU funded knowledge management project. He is co-author of several book chapters and numerous articles and papers on intellectual capital. He is an active researcher in the field of intellectual capital and related subject areas. Stephen has a PhD in Chemistry and a B. Science Hons. (chemistry with majors in mathematics and physics) from the University of Sussex.
Lisa is a consultant and researcher with Intellectual Capital Services Ltd. She is working as a consultant and project manager in intellectual capital and strategy projects with clients ranging from FMCG, retail and support services to insurance and telecom industries. Intellectual Capital projects typically involve helping clients identify, manage and measure intangible resources. Lisa has worked with clients in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Australia and France. Lisa has written a range of academic articles and books/book chapters covering the subjects of intellectual capital and strategy. Prior to her position with Intellectual Capital Services Ltd. Lisa was a marketing manager for Ericsson in France. Lisa has a B. Science in Business Administration and Economics from the Gothenburg School of Economics and Commercial Law and a Diploma in Media and Communication, University of Gothenburg. She is fluent in English, Swedish (mother tongue), Norwegian and French and conversational in German and Danish.
