Synopsis
Since ancient times, people have looked at the night sky and attempted to understand the universe around them. The ancient Greeks and Romans identified groups of stars, or constellations, and named them after mythological figures. Much later, the invention of the telescope helped people, such as Galileo, see more of the sky than ever before, leading to new discoveries and more detailed maps. This book explores how the study of stars, planets, and space has increased our knowledge of the geography of the universe.
