Author Mae Woods follows the format for the "Children's Authors" series by introducing Marc Brown on the first page and then moving on to his early years, work life, books, success and family. Brown is the author and illustrator of the well-known Arthur books about an aardvark. Brown's first book was called Arthur's Nose. His second book was Arthur's Eyes. Other Arthur books followed. One introduced his sister D. W. While Brown was working on the Arthur books, he was also writing other books about dinosaurs and bunnies. But the Arthur books were the most popular. A cartoon series was made which won Emmy awards in 1997 and 1998. In 2000, there was a television special called Arthur's Perfect Xmas. Brown has written sixty books featuring Arthur the Aardvark. Author Brown travels around the country speaking to children about his books. Woods has done a nice job of presenting information about a well-known writer.
