Children's Literature
The Maserati brothers worked on race cars in Italy, and in 1926, they decided to build and race their own car. They won numerous races, including the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940. In the 1950s they began producing sports cars and sedans. Various models of the Maserati have unique features, such as a suspension system that does not dip during braking, powerful brakes, and soundproofing. One of the race cars stands out from all of the other race cars. The frame is made of small steel tubes, approximately 200 of them. Only a small number of these cars were built between 1959 and 1961. One of the models, the MC12 is an exclusive model and is only for select customers. The text is in simple language, English and Spanish, and defines important terms in bold letters. There is a glossary and a diagram, which defines various auto parts of the Maserati. The photographs are large and colorful, giving a clear view of the various models. Additional resources listed on the internet are included in the back of the book. It is part of the "Blazers" series. Reviewer: Leila Toledo
