Synopsis

Architectural photographer Michael Freeman presents over 200 color images of meditative spaces, accompanied by brief reflections on their design. Found in locations around the globe, these spaces draw on both ancient meditative techniques and modern innovations in interior design to enhance feelings of tranquility in those who enter. Structures profiled range from a modern Zen temple in Japan to a portable glass "tent" by British artist Rosie Leventon. Universe Publishing is an imprint of Rizzoli.
