Overview

Michael Dorris is a respected writer and educator. He has written books for children and cowritten several books, including Love Medicine, with his wife Louise. Dorris's most recognized project is his book The Broken Cord, in which he wrote about his adopted son Abel's affliction, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. The book has served to educate many about the dangers of drinking alcohol during pregnancy. The Broken Cord was so successful it was made into a TV movie in Hollywood.
