Overview

Microdermabrasion, one of twelve titles in Milady's Aesthetician Series, takes a unique and highly effective approach in addressing the advanced educational needs of aestheticians in medical skin care facilities, day spas and resort spas. Readers will begin to understand the indications, contraindications and significant clinical information necessary for clinical microdermabrasion. A host of case studies helps the student evaluate and interpret the material. Clinicians will be able to work through specific case histories to improve their knowledge, based on their own relevant clinical experiences. Specific instructions for procedures are outlined and put into working documents, making the implementation process easy for the clinician, physician or facility. The approach used in this text is different from that available in any other text right now because the use of the policy and procedure guide and the case studies create a real-life study of microdermabrasion.

From the Publisher

The more schools start offering such a program for graduate students, the more the demand will rise for it. My initial overall impression is great! For those schools who will need to offer advanced programs, this is very exciting. I believe segmenting into what is used in a dermatology setting versus what is used in a Plastic Surgery setting, specifically would be very beneficial. I hope that equipment types will also be touched on to be able to make good choices on equipment for a medical spa.
