Synopsis
The first section of this text for a first course in economics introduces key concepts in economics, focusing on producing and trading as examples of economic activities within the framework of supply and demand. The second section examines objectives, constraints, and choices in microeconomics, beginning with marginal utility analysis and elasticity and covering the firm, market structures, and microeconomic policies. A final section looks at international trade and finance theory. This sixth edition expands discussion of many areas, and offers emphasis on economic thinking and greater discussion of key economic concepts. Application features have also been updated.
