Children's Literature

Milly and Molly attend a school play about stowaways in this title, and learn a very important lesson. In the play, the stowaways all have incredible talents, but they are also disabled. Through the play, Milly and Molly learn that it is important not to judge disabled people by their disability. They also learn that despite a disability, a person can have many, many talents and skills. This book does an excellent job of conveying the message that all people have value, but the writing is lackluster. It requires the reader to fill in the plot holes. For instance, the book never explains the meaning of the word "stowaway." Since this book is intended for a preschool audience, that piece of information is necessary. 2003, MM House Publishing, Ages 4 to 8.
