This title in the "Explore Space!" series gives a simple overview of the ground support astronauts receive while on space missions. The Mission Control Center at the Johnson Space Center in Texas is described, and readers will be able to see the flight control room and learn about flight control jobs. Readers will also learn about launching a space shuttle at the Kennedy Space Center. The text is large with three to four sentences per page. Full-page color photographs accompany the text, and captions are included that add more detailed information. A hands-on activity to simulate a mission control center is included to reinforce concepts learned. A glossary of "Words to Know" and a bibliography with Internet sites makes this series a handy addition for a classroom theme unit about space. 2002, Capstone Press,
