Overview

It's 1894, and Rose Wilder, her mama, and her papa are packing up their covered wagon and leaving the prairie. Rose hates to say good-bye to Grandma and Grandpa, but she can't wait to start her new life in Missouri!

The Rose Chapter Books are gentle adaptations of the Rose Years novels. They, introduce beginning readers to Rose Wilder, the little girl who would grow up to be Laura Ingalls Wilder's daughter.

The Rose Chapter Books are part of an ongoing series of Little House Chapter Books.

Author Biography: Roger Lea MacBride, a close friend of Rose Wilder Lane's, was the author of the Rose Years novels.

Even though she is sad to leave her home in South Dakota, Rose has many new experiences as she and her parents and the Cooley family make their journey to Missouri.
