Two and a half times the size of the original 1961 edition, popular electronics writer Graf's standard reference defines terms as they are actually used in the trade rather than as the technician who first coined them intended them to mean. He includes terms, acronyms, and abbreviations from basic theory to emerging technology in consumer electronics, optics, microelectronics, computers, communications, and medical electronics. Many drawings and diagrams help clarify the text. He does not cross-reference very much and includes no index. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
