Children's Literature

The contents of this book focus on the world's highest places, mountain weather, mountain plants, mountain animals, the Himalayas, the Andes, the Rocky Mountains, the Alps, bighorn sheep, mountain lions, golden eagles, wild yaks, and threats to the mountains. The book's layout is absolutely beautiful. Also, there is a lot of information in each of the two page chapters, as well as, quality photographs and readable print. Much is covered, but much is left to discover for those who are interested and who are able to go on to the next level in other books. This book is part of the "Habitats" series that explores major types of environments and shows the wide variety of plants and animals that exist and thrive there, and how they in turn, play a part in the survival of the habitat. There is a helpful glossary and index. 2005, A+ Smart Apple Media, Ages 8 to 12.
