Overview
Through practical tips, wacky rhymes and bright, playful illustrations—Ms. Sneed makes hygiene fun! In her won special way, she reminds readers to cover their mouths when they sneeze, watch behind their ears and brush their hair everyday. This unforgettable pop-up and lift-the-flap book will teach kids these important lessons, while the Queen of Clean will keep them laughing all the way to the bathtub.Editorials

K-Gr 2Ms. Sneed, a bizarre combination of Ms. Frizzle and Betty Furness in cat's-eye glasses, coaches kids on good hygiene practices. However, the pop-up design is not enough to distract even the most easily amused kids from the fact that this is one bad book. Not only is there very little information provided, but what little there is consists of statements like "Boogers are not food." The illustrations, done in broad, heavy strokes, are flat. The pop-ups are more of a distraction than anything else, consisting of little more than an ear, a nose, a mouth in the center of each double-page spread. Although children might like reading about the yellow crud in their eyes when they wake up or about moss growing on their teeth, this effort doesn't provide enough humor to be appreciated as a joke, or enough information to be considered as an addition to the hygiene section. Really lame.Christine A. Moesch, Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, NYBook Details
