Children's Literature

The time portal that six neighborhood kids discovered in their backyard has opened again. Without any hesitation they are ready for adventure and soon find themselves sealed inside an Egyptian pharaoh's tomb. Oddly the time portal opens again. Could it be the action of an odd amulet that Brian has unthinkingly slipped into his pocket? The group finds themselves in an earlier time when the pyramid is under construction. Dressed in clothes found in the tomb, the six are nevertheless recognized as impostors, taken prisoner, and commanded to play a game of senet to win their freedom. Although the kids return safely to their time and place, nothing is resolved. Who are the mysterious men in black who observe the children through a computer screen? What is the stone set in the amulet, and why do those men in black want it? To find out you will have to buy the next book in the "Time Soldiers, The Ultimate Adventure" series because, as it says on the last page of this one, the story is "to be continued." With its one dimensional characters and simple plot, the book gets most of its excitement from the colorful, dramatic, and detailed photographic stills that illustrate every page.
