Overview

The popularity of the museum has dramatically increased in recent years and many modern examples have been built around the world. This book catalogues these developments and beautifully presents an exciting selection of the most inspiring examples of contemporary museums around the world.
The book that first launched the successful Builders series was Museum Builders in 1994 and since this time there has been an explosion in museum building by some of the world's most famous architects. Instead of trying to update the first edition Wiley-Academy has produced a completely new and updated volume.
Following a historical and contemporary assessment of the role of the museum, the author presents, in great photographic detail, the most famous examples of modern museums around the world. Includes work by Frank Gehry, Rem Koolhaas, Daniel Libeskind, Zaha Hadid, Jean Nouvel and others.
