Pine (Durrell School of Corfu) presents a history of Radio Telefis Eireann (RTE), which, with its inception in 1926, founded many music groups and programs. He discusses its policies and politics, gives background on music in Ireland during the 1920s, then makes his way chronologically through the history of the broadcasting organization, its relationship with composers and conductors, and the founding of the National Symphony Orchestra, concert orchestra, choirs, and quartets. The book is accompanied by a CD-ROM containing recordings of works by Irish composers in RTE Sound Archives. Pine was the organization's Concerts Manager from 1974 to 1983.
